Level 5 Award in
Terrorism Prevention
and Management

There is no single style of terrorism, just as there are no single causes – and yet for the modern security and risk manager, whatever context they are operating in, the need to have an awareness of the range of threats that terrorism could cause, as well as to have a range of pro-active and pre-emptive management frameworks, and (in the event that they are needed) reactive post-event responses, has never been higher.

This programme is designed for security and risk managers who are being tasked with the modelling, planning and management of security programmes that are robust enough to protect their communities not just from accidents and disasters, but from wilful attack.

It is based on the lessons learned over a life-time of experience from multiple practitioners, as well as globally accepted best practices that allow anyone, whatever their role or environment, to utilise standard templates, frameworks and methodologies in order to ensure that their own communities are as safe as it is possible to be.

Terrorism Prevention and Management is not something that can happen in isolation. It requires the buy-in of everyone involved in an organisation, as well as the development of a wider network of personal and professional connections that creates a safe and security environment, rather than focussing on securing isolated components.

This course covers all of the significant issues that need to be taken into account when creating a holistic, integrated and, above all, sustainable terrorism awareness and management programme.
