Seven years ago, ISRM was founded on a simple but powerful idea: the challenges organisations and societies face are becoming more complex, interconnected and unpredictable — and traditional approaches to risk just aren’t enough.
Looking back, that reality has only grown clearer. We live in a world defined by constant change — instability, geopolitical tensions, technological disruption and rapidly evolving threats touch almost every part of our lives. The need for strategic, forward-looking approaches to risk, resilience and crisis management has never been greater.
Over the past seven years, ISRM has grown into a truly global network. We bring together practitioners, academics and institutions who are passionate about understanding risks, building stronger professional capabilities and finding smarter ways to respond. Through international chapters, university partnerships, research projects and events, we’ve created spaces where ideas, experience and collaboration come together — and where real impact happens.
None of this would have been possible without the energy, dedication and engagement of our Fellows, members, partners and wider community. You are the heart of ISRM.
As we look to the future, the need for thoughtful, informed and collaborative approaches to risk management will only grow. The work we’re doing together is more relevant — and more necessary — than ever. Here’s to the next seven years!
